About David

For the past seven and a half years I have worked in the video game industry creating artwork for popular adventure titles such as Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events.

My passion however lies in the more tactile medium of oil on canvas. Among the things I enjoy most about painting a still life is the challenge of creating the illusion of texture and depth. For me, to successfully bring out the texture and shape of an orange is about as good as it gets.

Being self taught I certainly have no shortage of influences. Among those who's work continues to inspire me are contemporary masters such as David Leffel and Jeff Legg as well as immortals such as Rembrandt and James Peale.
